    Air Fryer Fried Mushrooms

Making fried mushrooms in the air fryer is surprising easy and quick!

The added bonus is that the air fryer is quick to heat up and cuts out a large amount of oil that foods are saturated by in a deep-fat fryer.

How to Use an Air Fryer Banner

Ingredients for Air Fryer Fried Mushrooms

    • Whole Mushrooms
    • Butter
    • Panko Breadcrumbs
    • Large Eggs

    • Worcestershire
    • Salt
    • Black Pepper

What type of mushrooms should be used for fried mushrooms?

Just about any mushroom can be breaded, fried, and taste delicious.

I used baby bella mushrooms for this recipe, but white button, morel, or cremini are also delicious choices.

The type of mushrooms you have available can depend greatly on the season and what is available at your local grocery store or farmer’s market.

How to Make Fried mushrooms in Air Fryer

    • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth. Avoid running them under water because this causes them to get soggy quickly.
    • Trim the mushroom stems. They can be removed entirely by snapping off or cut just under the cap of the mushroom.
    • Add butter and panko to a microwave-safe dish and microwave for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, stirring every 30 seconds.
    • In a bowl, mix eggs, hot sauce, Worcestershire, salt, and black pepper. Dip each mushroom into the egg mixture, followed by panko breadcrumbs, shaking off any excess.
    • Spray or rub oil on the inside of the air fryer basket and add a single layer of mushrooms. Cook at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown, flipping halfway.

    Sauces for Fried Mushrooms

Granite City’s fry sauce is great for dipping fried foods in, but if you’re looking for something with a little kick try chipotle aioli.

These were great. I followed the instructions only swapped our ground pork rinds for the panko bread crumbs – doing low carb. and they were awesome, I will definitely be making them again.
