Air fryer frozen taquitos are quick and easy to prepare. The outside turns out crispy and it’s a great alternative to microwaving or baking in the oven.

We love the mess of a taco (that’s part of what makes it so great) but if you want something a little tidier – try taquitos. Unless you can find a taquito cart near you, grab yourself a pack of frozen taquitos and enjoy!
Taquitos vs Tacos
You probably already guessed it; taquito means small taco. However, the word doesn’t perfectly describe it, if you ask me.
Taquitos are indeed smaller but they are often also longer and rolled. Imagine an extra-long cigar.
What does this mean? Let’s just take it as an excuse to eat more servings 😉
How Long to Cook Frozen Taquitos in Air Fryer
No need to roll when you have a bag of ready-made taquitos in your freezer. If you do have the time for homemade chicken taquitos you are a lucky one but the El Monterey Taquitos will also fix your cravings.
I spread out about 6-8 rolls in my air fryer and cook them at 380 degrees Fahrenheit. I flip each one after about 5 minutes and leave it in the air fryer for another 3-4 minutes.
Depending on the filling, it may take more or less time. The only way to find out is by cutting one in half and checking if it is cooked throughout.
What Do You Eat Taquitos With?
Turn the frozen taquitos into a complete meal, of course staying within the Mexican theme. These recipes are a great way to switch up Taco Tuesdays when you are pressed for time.
When I want to get in some extra protein (great for a keto diet), I serve the taquitos with my Mexican black beans. For something a little more indulgent, I love making my Mexican street corn that has a fresh and delicious flavor.
For an even more filling meal, you can try this authentic Mexican rice recipe. It might just become your regular way of cooking rice.
To stay with more of an appetizer or finger food night, try these baked steak taco cups.
Good Dipping Sauce for Taquitos
If you’ve read my other recipes then you know that I love a good dipping sauce. And of course, I have tried and tested several great ones to pair with taquitos.
Ask almost anyone these days and they will tell you that few things are as delicious as homemade guacamole. Sometimes I’ll make Mexican food just so I can make guacamole, too.
If you want to get a little spicy, these jalapeno dipping sauces are perfect. Try this roasted red pepper salsa for amazing color or this jalapeno ranch dressing that is both spicy and refreshing.
If you haven’t tried taquitos yet, I highly recommend you run to the store and get yourself some. You won’t regret it! Let me know how you eat your taquitos, what your favorite fillings are, and which dipping sauces you recommend via Instagram or in the comments below.
