    Strawberry Bellinis

Toast to the New Year or to your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day with strawberry bellinis!

    Traditional Bellini

A traditional bellini is made with peach purée and Prosecco. Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine.

This is similar to a mimosa, which is made of orange juice and champagne.

    Strawberry Bellini Ingredients

    • Fresh or Frozen Strawberries (Or use strawberry purée drink mix, which will be sweeter)
    • Champagne or Other Sparkling Wine (like Prosecco)
    • Strawberries for Garnish, optional
    • Sprinkles for Garnish, optional

    How to Make Strawberry Bellinis

To make a strawberry bellini, a strawberry purée is needed. Strawberry purée can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries or strawberry purée drink mix can be found with alcohol mixers at the store.

The strawberry purée found with the alcohol mixers has added sweetener in it and will give a slightly sweeter drink.

To make strawberry purée from scratch is very simple:

    • Add the strawberries, stems removed, to a blender or food processor.
    • Blend until smooth then strain through a wire mesh strainer to remove seeds. Set aside.
    • Dip the top of each champagne flute in a shallow dish of water.

    • Next, dip the top of each flute in coarse sugar or sprinkles.

    • If desired, add pieces of strawberries to the flute. Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry purée to each flute, then fill to the top with champagne.

    Is sparkling wine champagne?

According to Wine Country, “All champagne is sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wine is champagne.”

Champagne originates from the vineyards in Champagne, France so true champagne can only come from the grapes there.

Whereas sparkling wine comes from all different vineyards.
