Quick and easy recipe to make Instant Pot ginger pepper steak with green peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger mixed in a flavorful, savory Teriyaki sauce served over rice.
Pepper steak is the perfect dish for a quick weeknight meal after getting home from work. The beef is tender, the vegetables have a perfectly cooked bite to them, and the sauce is more like a flavorful gravy.
This recipe tastes just like the pepper steak you get at a Chinese buffet or takeout. It’s delicious! The great thing is you can easily double the recipe if you want more for a larger family or to have leftovers – that’s what I do!

The meat department didn’t have steak strips that I was looking for so I used stew meat and cut the beef down into smaller strips.
Sirloin works just as well. I typically use sirloin and it turns out very tender.
I used a rice cooker to make my rice, but if you do not have one it is easy to cook rice over the stove in a pan with the lid on to steam it or covered in the microwave. I have included instructions for the stovetop method below.
